Lonnie Reed Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lonnie Reed was born on May 3rd, 1935 in Des Moines, Iowa, to the proud parents of, John and Frances Reed. He was the first to this union. He attended Galileo High School. He served in the military as a Marine. Lonnie worked as a longshoreman for 37 years. He enjoyed watching the Warriors and the Forty-Niners games. He was kind and compassionate man to everyone. He met and married Patricia Hughes and to this union a daughter, Demetrice Reed was born. He later met and married Hilda Crayton and became the stepfather of Carolyn Marie. After that union Lonnie met Threntha White a special friend. Lonnie spent the last 19 years of his life with his special partner Denis Willis. On Sunday, October 27th, 2019, God called Lonnie home to his eternal resting place. He will continue to live in the heart and memories of all who knew him. Lonnie was preceded in death by his father John Reed, his mother, Frances Bryant, sister Katherine Reed, brother Donald Reed, great grandson Anthony Payne, ex-wife Patricia Wilson, ex-wife Hilda Reed. Lonnie leaves to cherish his daughter Demetrice Reed Jones, son-in-law Danny Jones, Denise Willis, grandchildren Francina, Taveo, Lonnie, William, Renetrice, Xavier, Adrian, Niyanni, Nehemiah, Nealiyah, Sharayah, Malachi, and Nayomi, and a host of family and friends.
